Unfortunately though I need to do the wires tidy-up, the concept of taking the boy on a tour was FAR too resonant!!!!

[...] Then I read this post by Christine Kane this morning explaining the feng shui of how those huge cable messes sap energy (spirtitual energy, that is). I can’t say I accept or dismiss the prinicpals on feng shui (though one of them I learn a while ago, having your desk face the door, is one I’ve followed whenever I can), but now I can at least justify my OCD tendencies toward wire ties.
hello authormomdognut! You're absolutely right there. In this case, it took LOTS of scrubbing and throwing out of things to get complete! (I was working with a coach who was quite encouraging of these activities!)

colin, i'm not sure it's okay for you to use the word "energy." someone may have to come take you away! and yes, you're right there (if your worldview can open up to this), it really is a physical shifting of something in the room, and goes beyond metaphor. (though, it helps some people to think of it as metaphor so that they don't appear to be going too woo-woo.)

hey joy! well, i got tired of using the word "cable." and "wire" didn't work. so, chord it was... though it's probably spelled "cord" isn't it? hmmm. i should go change that! my musician side took over, huh? :-D (we won't tell anyone.)

Hi Christine,

I believe you did an Accidental Coining of a New Phrase....
"answering machine chords" conjures up a very cool audio-visual image for me. Thanks for that!

I started to write "excellent metaphore", but then it struck me that one may be actually "cleaning" while cleaning...so, not so much metaphore as literally changing the energy (hey...that ain't too bad given my worldview!). Be interesting to see if there's much difference in the way women "untangle" and men do so. Not important...just maybe interesting.
(PS...guess I'm out of hiding for awhile. Maybe I'm getting untangled too!)

Also being sensitive, I understand the desire to get a room completely gone of another inhabitant's presence. I find that, after cleaning, and feng shuing, washing down all surfaces (like you did with the cables) including desk tops, office equipment, walls, floors, etc., really helps free the room and sets it up for a fresh beginning.
