Hi Tommie! Thanks for your note. Congratulations on having the courage to quit the second job. Sometimes just having that extra space provides so much more happiness that we just naturally attract the resources to live a better life without needing that second job. You sound so much happier. Have fun at the beach! I'm glad you like the blog...

David, As always, you're right on target. I'm considering writing a whole blog based on your comment. I was wondering as I wrote about sabotage why I don't feel like I have sabotaged myself (even though I've done some really stupid things!) and I realized it's because I simply never used that word. Your points about intent were something I forgot to toss in here. (Not that I need any more length to my blogs!) meer.

On your book/resource list is "What the bleep do we know". There is a web site with more information and resources. http://whatthebleep.com/

The essence from "what the bleep" that is important to this discussion for me is the notion of intention. What you have referred to in your post is the difference between holding the intention of sabotage, or any other possible intention in another direction. We have the ability to make our world different at any time with a new intention. If you choose to hold the intention of disaster, that's what will happen.

We are also not our past. I have been doing a lot of thinking about Eckhardt Tolle's "The Power of NOW". The trick is to become the watcher of your thoughts and intentions. As Tolle puts it, this is what brings you back to now. Can you stop yourself from running wildly in panic (like the dog), to look at if you are really OK right NOW. The kindness to yourself of bringing yourself back home from the past or the future, and realize that all things are possible from now.

Wow Christine, your Blogs are getting more and more powerful and wonderful. I realized at the retreat that I attended that my goal was to have a more balanced life and bang it hit me I needed to give up my second job in order to do that. I did right on schedule (Dec. 2005) and that has been great. It has given me more time to think and meditate and visit my precious granddaughter, and be a more relaxed person. Time to bring out that person who was so immersed in work she didn't have to think about much at all. It has been grand to read your REAL life blogs. I love books and loved your book list and the great notes about your favorites. I went to the library today and found as many of them as I could. Nel and I are going to the beach this weekend and she will be surprised by so many books. We will have a great time sharing pieces of them. Thanks for sharing your self, your wisdom, your knowledge, your "real life" writings.
