Word of the Day: Overjoyed

Written by Christine Kane

Thank you to the wonderful guest bloggers who filled this space with such great energy in the month of December!

I’ve been moved and inspired by all of the stories of expansion and manifesting, and I’m blessed to know each of you through your writing!

(There are two final Word-of-the-Year articles that will be posted here over the weekend. They were turned in a little late – and they’re so good that I had to include them in the series! Look for them this weekend!)

Today’s word is actually a song.

It’s my New Year’s gift to you…

I wrote this about five years ago on New Year’s Eve – when I was asking myself if I could finally choose joy. It’s called “Overjoyed.”

Happy New Year everyone!  Let’s shine in 2009!

Deb December 31, 2008 at 3:12 pm

I really enjoyed reading each post this month. This was a fabulous idea. That’s one of my favorite songs on “A Friday Night in One Lifetime.”

I have finally chosen my 2009 word and will be posting about it tomorrow.

I have drawn so much inspiration from your blog and from all the guest writers this past month. Thanks to all of you for sharing. After journaling and settling on one word, the very next day a new one came through with much conviction and decisiveness. Funny how that happens. You’ve actually ended your post with it. Shine.
A shining and wonderous new year to everyone!

So much inspiration here all year. Thank you Christine. My word is incubating still, but it’s on it’s way!

Your song is beautiful – I loved the lyrics. I’m going back to listen again.

Amazingly enough I have been reading your blog for over a year now and had not yet listened to a note of your music. Plenty of “I’ll get around to thats” and “Next times”. Serves me right – I am now sitting in work with my headphones on and holding back the tears of joy at this song being the first of yours I have listened to. It is so pure. All the joy in the world to you in 2009.

Lance January 2, 2009 at 9:45 am

Hi Christine,

Thank you for this! You, Christine, are truly a gift to this world. Seeing the many, many shared experiences with this concept, over the course of this past month – has really been a true testament to the power behind this concept of one word!

Your song here is beautiful. You message, always, inspiring. Your gifts, endless…

May your new year be filled with as much abundance as you give out yourself – an overflowing cup of goodness to our world!

Happy New Year!

Giulietta January 2, 2009 at 2:38 pm

Christine,

Thanks for the lovely song. The best gifts always come from the heart, don’t they. Hmmm. Heart could be a cool word for someone.

I also appreciated the opportunity to blog about my precious word Genius. It has changed my life in many wonderful ways. Double thanks!

And although I didn’t intend to do it, I read and wrote a comment for every other blogger’s word of the year. It became a wonderful, upbeat way to start the day. I miss it already.

Wishing you continued magnificence in 2009! Thx G.

Cid January 3, 2009 at 9:43 am

Christine,

That song always brings tears to my eyes, and makes me want to sing!!!

My word for 2008 was create. Create is exactly where I was last year… trying out my power as a deliberate creator… creating art… creating peace in my home.

I was thrilled to be able to attend your retreat in November…you are an amazing, inspirational person :) Present, creative, lovely. The whole experience was exactly what I needed, especially the time to reflect. I was able to really focus in on what I wanted to do differently in 2009.

This year my word is Allow. More about Be-ing than Do-ing. I’m learning that the most fabulous things come with Grace…effortlessness (hmmmmm, that would be a good word too!) and without force. I don’t have to DO anything, just Allow myself to be in alignment with total Well-Being. The ease of that is just yummy to me…

Peace & Abundance, Cid

Andrea January 4, 2009 at 1:40 pm

Happy New Year! This song made me walk up to say hi to you at Proctor’s theatre in Albany NY after your show. So glad I did.
Love, Andrea

This was the first time I’d heard this song. It brought tears to my eyes; not only does the subject strike a chord, but so does the beautiful honesty in your voice. Thanks, I needed that.

Dear Christine!

Wow! I just came across overjoyed on a playlist here:

http://optimisticvoices.blogspot.com/2008/12/christmas-in-trenches-john-mccutcheon.html

Eleven good tunes there! (on some live radio link

I feel so blessed to have found it! Thank you, Christine, for this deeply life-affirming song! I can’t wait to learn it and share it and tell people your name! I will encurge all friends to buy it on Itines too – or to get the CD.

May we all become more identified with that Inner Light! And may your song be a light for so many that struggle now through pain and anger and depresion — even those in the Dark Night of the Soul.
