Christine Kane’s DVD Live at the Diana Wortham Theatre was awarded a bronze Telly Award in the category of Entertainment Program – Long Form. The 28th Annual Telly Awards were officially announced in late June 2007. The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions. The 28th Annual Telly Awards received over 14,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents.
Live at the Diana Wortham Theatre was filmed before a sold-out audience at the premiere performing arts center in Asheville, NC in October 2006. The performance features Christine Kane, accompanied by a trio of heavy-hitting musicians: Tony Creasman on drums, Tim Surrett on bass, and Jeremy Metkiff on electric and acoustic guitars. The DVD was filmed and produced by Kim Ryan White and Viewfinders, Inc.
The DVD also features a bonus exclusive in-depth interview with Christine, exploring a range of topics, including creativity, overcoming stage fright, building a career in the arts, and the ins and outs of success.
Christine Kane, who performs regularly at celebrated festivals and popular venues, has created a career that extends far beyond typical indie music boundaries. Two national dance companies have choreographed ballets to Christine’s music, spotlighting her at top performance arts centers. Christine’s songs have been recorded by popular artists, including Kathy Mattea and “Nashville Star” finalist Casey Simpson. Borders Books named one of Christine’s CD’s “The Best of 2003,” and The Washington Post called her “a petite powerhouse of a singer.” Christine is also sought-after as a teacher and speaker, praised for her humorous and authentic approach to creativity and goal-setting. In this capacity, she has appeared with several best-selling authors, including SARK and Jennifer Louden.
