Reinventing Yourself - Christine Kane

When you were a kid, you probably played dress up.

Maybe you were a princess. Or maybe you were a pirate.

Reinventing yourself isn’t as simple as changing costumes (I wish!), but it IS about getting into character. Meaning, you need to get in touch with who you really are.

When you’re reinventing yourself, you’re being called to act from your AUTHENTIC sense of self.
It’s about being YOURSELF, and being true to yourself. It’s about taking leaps and following your dreams.

Reinventing yourself is all about finding your own answers.

Think about it”¦
What motivates you?
What inspires you?
What brings you joy?
What do you want to do with your life?

I’m telling you from personal experience that reinventing yourself is not only possible””but it’s CRITICAL for your happiness and personal evolution.

Reinventing yourself starts on the inside.

You need to reframe the way you think about your life, and your life’s work, and tap into the joy, abundance, and wealth that is waiting for you.

Here are three tips to help guide you along your personal journey of Reinventing Yourself.

1. Reinventing Yourself with Clarity and Intention-setting

Thoughts about reinventing yourself usually start when you take an honest look at your life and think: This isn’t what I wanted for my life. I’m not happy.

Now, don’t dismay. This is good information, and the important thing is what you DO with it.

Look at what IS working in your life. What do you want MORE of?

What is standing in your way of reinventing yourself? Your answers hold the key to set you on the right path.

Sometimes you have to look into the darkness to see where the stars shine brightest.

When you’re in the process of self-reinvention, you need to set an intention to make it possible.

I LIVE by the power of intention. And all that focused attention is a powerful thing!

I go into a lot of detail about this in my free eBook, The Complete Guide to Vision Boards. Vision boarding is a fun, creative way to activate the process of reinventing yourself.

2. Reinventing Yourself in Baby Steps

What do you want to achieve?

Do you want to start your own business?

Switch careers?

Find a loving partner?

Get into shape?

Whatever your goals are around reinventing yourself, you need to identify them and then break them down. The way to do this is to make a master list of your goals. Next, prioritize these goals for reinventing yourself. Now, you’re going to start with one goal, your top goal, and create an action plan for it.

Here’s where I need to tell you to BE REALISTIC.

You don’t train for a marathon by running 26.2 miles out the gate. You break it down into small, manageable runs and work your way up to more distance, a bit at a time. In the same way, you want your action steps to be achievable.

Break them down into baby steps that you can actually handle, and then tackle them one at a time. When you start crossing them off your list”¦Look out! Over time, baby steps lead to BIG steps and to AMAZING transformations.

You’ll find you’re on the way to reinventing yourself, and that feels unstoppable!

3. Reinventing Yourself by Making Yourself Accountable

You’re taking your baby steps towards reinventing yourself, and you’re picking up steam, but then”¦SMACK! You fall flat on your face.

Accept it! Failing sometimes IS part of the process.

The important thing is to pick yourself up and keep going. No one said reinventing yourself was easy. True transformation takes work! Believe me when I tell you that the only thing you’ll regret is NOT trying.

So keep those baby steps going! Set deadlines for yourself to keep your momentum. With deadlines, you’ll be accountable, and it will give you a framework to work steadily towards your goals. Tell other people you trust your deadlines, so that they can help you stay accountable. If you’re starting your own business, hire a business coach to keep you on track.

The true lesson of reinventing yourself is trust. You have to trust the power of your intention, and the power of this process.
