When Bad Things Happen to Good Dogs…

Written by Christine Kane

…should their mothers really take a picture?

(P.S. She got a can of gourmet sardines after the bath and the photo.)

I bet you can’t beat what happened to me today – Bowser, my golden retriever, diarrhea-ed in my room at 6am, vomited in the car just outside the vet, and then again when we almost reached home. He’s still the best is all I can say.

Mugsy & Knuckles had a bath a weekend or two ago. They hate it, too!

Ima!! How adorable! And yes, mothers should take their picture and post it for the world to see. Being a dog owner for the the first time, what I love most is how they still look up at you with those unconditionally loving eyes that look deep into your soul and say “I trust you and I will put up with whatever this because you want me to.” Our little Islay (EYE-la) Bear is a Westie Rescue and unbelievably has no neuroses that we can detect. He’s brought so much love and joy to us in just the one month we’ve had him. Other than the fact that he’s white, he looks a lot like Ima when he’s having his bath.

Too cute, I love the expression in her eyes. So ‘fess up, what did she do that she needed a bath?

she gets a bath every week in the fall cuz her skin gets itchy. (Usually, the mobile dog washing unit comes to my house.) this time – since i was doing it myself – i decided to photograph her!

Precious!!!! She deserved the treat–neither of my girls would stand long enough for me to take a picture. :)

There is nothing more authentic and adorable than our dogs – well except maybe our dogs when they are getting a bath!

Nothing worse than itchy skin! I bet she feels better after her bath even if she doesn’t appreciate it at the time.

She is just too cute for words! You may already have tried this — but Zymox dog shampoo is great for dogs with skin issues. My little golden retriever, Logan, had a whole host of allergy-related skin issues, and this shampoo was such a blessing! Just love the look on your sweet pup’s face!

Hey Christine, that is a really precious picture! I am a cat person, and would never try that with any of them for fear of being scratched to death!! I’m glad she got a good treat after this ordeal! She’ll probably be in dog therapy if she ever sees the picture!
