Switching Careers - Christine Kane

The First Step to Switching Careers

It’s that nagging voice, and it’s getting louder. You’re thinking of switching careers and taking your next leap, but you don’t know if you can do it. The critical inner voice says:

No. You can’t do it.

It’s too risky.

What if you fail?

You’re foolish to even try switching careers.

It tells you to keep-on-keeping-on, to stick with what you’re doing, even if that means that you should “stick with being stuck.”

Well, I’m here to tell you that you CAN do it. You can live the life you want to be living AND do the heart-centered, soul-driven work you’re meant to be doing. The first step to switching careers is tapping into the unstoppable power of your intention. One of the most powerful ways to do that is by creating a vision board.

Keep reading and I’ll tell you how.

Switching Careers: Your Dream Job is Waiting for You

You’re probably thinking of switching careers because you want more. Not more in a greedy, insatiable kind of way, but because you want more out of your life. More out of the way you spend your time.

You’re probably thinking of switching careers because, deep down, you know you deserve to be happy. (You do!) You want more out of this life because you know it can be better than this. If you’re like me, and the thousands of people I’ve coached, you want to live a heart-centered life that’s filled with integrity, and you want your work to have purpose and meaning.

Maybe you’re thinking: Yes!

Or: Who doesn’t want that?

Or maybe what you’re really asking is: How the heck do I that, Christine?

Get Clear About Switching Careers Through Vision Boarding

Switching careers is best when you know what you want. Maybe you’re ready to act on the dream of owning your own business. Or maybe you have your eye on your “dream job.”

Either way, the first step is getting clear on what you want.

Creating a vision board can be a helpful first step to uncover, and hone in, on what job you really want for yourself. Following the Law of Attraction, when you surround yourself with images of who you want to become and what you want to have in your life, you create an opening—an attraction—for those things to actually come into your life.

It’s worked for me, and I’ve seen it work for thousands of others. Over 22,000 people have downloaded The Complete Guide to Vision Boards. I’ve heard many success stories from those folks, including lots from those who achieved great success by switching careers. Each one gives me a thrill, and serves as a reminder that anything is possible if you’re being open, honest, and willing.

Here’s the thing: When you take time to align with your true self, you can manifest your authentic desires with ease.

Switching Careers Takes Courage—I Know, I’ve Been There

If you’re considering switching careers, you’re being called to change. Charles Darwin said: “It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.”

Embracing change can be tough. It can be scary. But it can be the most rewarding thing you’ve ever done, and it can lead you to the life you’ve always dreamed of. I know, because I’ve been there.

Before becoming a mentor and business coach, I had to take my own leap.

My first moment of true freedom was when I quit an unfulfilling but decent-paying cubicle job. It was a bold move. Switching careers always is! But I had to do it. I was being called to follow my heart and give my singing career a real shot. So I did.  I followed my dream even though I had no idea how I’d make it work.

I was plagued with all the usual fear-based questions. Was I good enough? Could I get enough gigs to support myself? Would I have enough songs? How would I promote myself?

I didn’t know the answers, but I knew switching careers was the right thing to do. I made the decision to follow that path and trust my gut.

Switching Careers—Harness What You Want in a Vision Board

Maybe you’re in that same place. You’re thinking of switching careers and you’re ready to trust yourself, despite the fear talk, and in spite of the uncertainty. That takes courage! Now it’s time to let your inner knowing guide your vision of what can be.

Before I even knew about vision boards, I drew a small, focused version of one. I was ready to begin the process of switching careers and one night in my apartment I instinctively drew a picture of myself on a small stage surrounded by an audience. It turns out that my picture held all the larger-than-life possibility I needed to believe it could be true. Within a year, I had a calendar full of coffeehouse gigs.

And, yes, there were other factors that came into play to make this possible, but in that small hand-rendered vision board, I got crystal clear about what I wanted and, like a mirror, it reflected the possibility of what I could achieve.

Since then, I’ve made vision boards for all kinds of things using gathered imagery, (no more chicken scrawl!), and in The Complete Guide to Vision Boards, I show you how you can harness the power of your intention using the imagery that speaks to you.
